Call in memories of quiet forest walks among the Coast redwoods, healing energy, calm, and affection with this miniature artwork of Pacific Bleeding Hearts.
This small, framed and matted artwork of these heart-shaped, soft pink, drooping blooms is perfect for showing your love for that special person in your life.
Found throughout the moist lowland redwood and coniferous forests of the northern California coast, Sierra Nevadas, and north into British Columbia, Pacific bleeding hearts attract hummingbirds and bumblebees. The indigenous peoples of the Pacific West Coast used bleeding hearts medicinally in the form of a root tincture or hot compress as pain relief, and applied it externally to bruises and sprains. They also used this internally as a tincture to help calm frazzled nerves. The plant can be toxic, so using this plant medicinally should only be undertaken by knowledgeable herbalists.
